How it was made
LiberOS
There is much more to Pantheon OS than a simple sum of binary system zero-and-one features. Rather, what the designers have focused on is the boundless range of experiences in between. There, deep within every line of code, a whole range of features have been made possible that make LiberOS more functional in use and more attractive in the interface. LiberOS offers you all the power of a stable, complete and secure operating system like Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, on which Microtech has grafted it.

Freedom and security
The LiberOS system is built on a strong foundation of free and Open Source software. Being based on free software, it can benefit from superior security and privacy over proprietary software because the source code can be controlled by anyone in the community, be it a security researcher or a concerned user, and anyone can make sure that the software is secure and does not collect or leak personal information. Furthermore, the viruses that infect the Windows environment on LiberOS are completely ineffective and meaningless. Security is at the top of the category, so much so that you can use the system without necessarily having to install an antivirus.

What defines a great operating system is its ability to be used without having to know how to do it. In order to say goodbye to guides and manuals it was necessary to be inspired by some principles, including simplicity, functionality and synergy.
Functionality
Multitasking illimitato.
Why settle for just one app at a time? LiberOS is multi-window, this means switching quickly from one window to another with real multitasking. So you can complete a presentation in Office, while you search in your browser and talk to a colleague of yours on Teams. All at the same time. And you can also customize the corners of the screen and associate them with the action you want, such as showing all windows at the same time, or moving the windows you want on one of the many virtual desks available, rather than maximizing a window with a simple movement. Few actions, many results.
Notifications
Don’t miss a single notification. Notifications have been completely renewed to take advantage of up to the last pixel of your screen. They now appear on the right side of the display of each of your devices. Just a simple click. And there is also an icon to view notifications with a click of the mouse. Convenient, right?
Keyboard and mouse support
Rewrite the rules and aim for excellence. On every Microtech device equipped with LiberOS you will literally experience a new writing experience. In fact, the keyboard allows you to use all the shortcuts (eg. CTRL + C and CTRL + V) you need to simplify your user experience. We know how much precision and how much more functionality can derive from the use of a mouse. This is why LiberOS has been given the “right click”, which in Elementary OS is not allowed and which allows you to take advantage of all the additional possibilities of your desk. You can perform the most common operations such as “cut and paste” or “create new document” quickly and easily. And your productivity will benefit.
File Manager
The world’s most advanced file manager on Linux. Thanks to its intuitive interface, the LiberOS file manager puts at your disposal an extraordinary collection of features. The problem of finding out where this or that file went simply no longer arises. You can access, move and save your documents with an ease hitherto unknown in the Linux world. Just like connecting to a local network or accessing a company domain or a web server.
Applications
Microsoft Teams and LibreOffice are standard. A report to write and send immediately; the finishing touches to a presentation: we know how vital office applications are to your work. For this we have natively equipped LiberOS with the latest version of Libre Office, a formidable office suite, whose clean interface and the many tools available will allow you to unleash your creativity and increase your productivity. So you can write your own texts with Writer, design your spreadsheets with Calc or make your presentations with Impress. LiberOS is really ready to use, it breaks down all limits and makes you productive.

With Spotify, finding the right music for every moment is easy: there are millions of songs available: are you training, planning a party or relaxing after a hard day at work? The right music will always be close at hand. Choose what you want to hear or let Spotify surprise you. Explore the music libraries of friends, artists and celebrities or create a radio station and relax. Spotify is already on board every Microtech device equipped with LiberOS.
